its a shame that this company is offering a lifeline service. Typically people are poor and elderly that take advantage of this program.
Our experience with this is as follows. Mid October we got the lifeline service with AW. We could not hear on the phone, calls dropped mid conversation, adware regularly that prevents phone usage and phone battery would not charge. Called company to report issues the first week of Nov.
Not a pleasant experience at all. I kept repeating myself to agent, asked for a supervisor and was asked repeatedly what the problem was. Eventually I was transferred to tech support. They sent another phone.
Which leads to the next issue. The 2nd phone had its own malfunctions. i had to restart the phone several times to make ONE PHONE CALL... then when I fianlly could I received electical shock to my ear.
I still have the scar to prove it. I called the company reluctannlty again and went thru the same stupid cycle. I explained my safety concerns to the rep who practically called me a liar. I asked for a corp address and phone number and was told that they were with Sprint.
Rep gave me a phone number for Sprint and posed as a sprint rep until I asked her to call back and she then was a AW rep...(bologna) Needless to say I was sent another of the same ANS phone. Now its the first of December and i received yet another ANS phone. I have contact the State of California due to the fact that the last rep that I spoke with stated that they are located in the Philippines and that she had all of my personal information in front of her and that the state authorized them to collect and use that information as necessary. At this point my ear is scared, I downloaded one text message that used 1.9 MB of the 2.0 MB given, the phone is garbage full of adware and games that continue to download without permission, the phone features ie...sending/receiving calls and text is limited to availability of usage between low battery life, adware, rebooting and more.
This is SO SAD and deceitful and unsafe for anyone. Yes im pissed because this is SUPPOSED TO BE A LIFELINE SERVICE... so unfortunate.
just thought id share my experience and hopefully we can get some RESULTS from SPRINT/ Assurance Wireless soon. I'm so disappointed...

Tried to fix problem with customer srvc and they hung up in the middle of rebooting.... Now what do I do just keep calling and be put on hold.
I thought I'd get better service than received.
Why do I have does my comment have to be 50 words, shall I just rant and rave about *** phone and *** tech. service.
